It is advisable to prepare for quite severe frost heading towards Latvia. Take care of yourself, your loved ones, and animals.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) has issued an orange-level warning for severe frost on the night of Monday.
Meteorologists warn that severe frost is expected in the central and eastern regions of Latvia on Sunday evening and into Monday night. The warning is in effect from Sunday at 17:00 until Monday at 11:00.
Air temperatures will drop to minus 20–24 degrees Celsius, in most areas to minus 25–29 degrees Celsius, and in some places in the south to minus 30–31 degrees Celsius.
Air temperatures will gradually begin to rise in the first half of the day on Monday.
