In 2024, the most people in Latvia died from diseases of the circulatory system, according to information from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, LETA reports.
In 2024, 26,301 people died in Latvia, of which 13,574 were due to diseases of the circulatory system. Another 5,644 residents died from oncological diseases, and 1,443 cases of death were related to external causes of diseases and fatal outcomes.
More than a thousand deaths were also caused by diseases of the digestive system — in 2024, 1,166 residents of Latvia died from them.
