The State Joint Stock Company "Latvijas valsts ceļi" (LVC) urges drivers to plan extra travel time on Wednesday morning, January 28, due to adverse weather conditions.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, heavy snowfall and blizzards are expected in the southern regions of the country on Tuesday evening. This may lead to the formation of snow cover and snowdrifts on the roads, significantly hampering traffic, especially on regional and local roads with low traffic intensity.
LVC explained that during winter, roads are serviced on a priority basis, primarily focusing on the roads with the highest traffic intensity.
