On Tuesday, the sun will shine in Latvia, with only some areas of Kurzeme and northwestern Vidzeme experiencing cloudy skies, meteorologists predict, writes LETA.
No precipitation is expected. The wind will be weak or nonexistent. In some places, fog and frost are possible.
Due to the frost and calm weather, poor air quality is expected in many areas, especially in cities.
The maximum air temperature will range from -3 to -5 degrees in some areas of Kurzeme to -11 to -14 degrees in parts of the eastern regions and the Zemgale plain. In the evening, temperatures in some parts of Latvia will drop below -20 degrees.
In Riga, the sun will shine all day, with a weak southern wind expected, and calm weather in the afternoon and evening. The air temperature will be around -10 degrees in the middle of the day, while in the suburbs, temperatures may reach -20 degrees in the evening.
The influence of the anticyclone is weakening. Atmospheric pressure has dropped to 1029–1032 hPa at sea level.
