At the end of this week, predominantly sunny weather is expected in Latvia, with low air temperatures, forecasters predict.
On Thursday and Friday, the sun will shine in Latgale, while other regions of the country will have many clouds and light snow in places. On Saturday and Sunday, sunny weather is possible across all of Latvia. A weak to moderate southern and southeast wind will blow.
In the coming nights, temperatures in Latgale and Vidzeme will drop to around -20 degrees, while in the rest of the country, the frosts will be milder. The maximum daytime temperature will be between -4 and -9 degrees, with a few degrees colder in the eastern regions of the country.
Next week, a little precipitation is expected, and temperatures will fluctuate between moderate and severe frost. According to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, the last two weeks of January in Latvia are expected to be 6-9 degrees colder than normal.
