Preparation of Volunteers for the National Guard and Reserve Officer Programs Has Begun 0 66

As part of the January 2026 conscription, 110 recruits are required to undergo 11 months of military service in the Air Force at the military base in Lielvarde or at the headquarters battalion in Riga.

The start of service is scheduled for January 14, 2026.

Last year, the opportunity to apply for the National Guard program for the training of national guardsmen and the reserve officer training program for students was extended until September.

Applications for these types of service are accepted exclusively on a voluntary basis through the unified platform klustikaravirs.lv in the National Guard section.

Both types of service have one annual conscription - in January. The service program is designed for a five-year period, during which at least 28 days must be served annually under the National Guard program, while the reserve officer program for students requires at least 180 days of service over five years, currently set at 214 days.
