Public transport delays on Friday morning in Riga were linked to damage to the contact network, SIA “Rīgas satiksme” reported to the LETA agency.
In the morning, bus and trolleybus traffic towards the city center was halted in the area of Gustav Zemgala Street, and there were also issues with tram movement.
As explained by Rīgas satiksme representative Baiba Bartashevicha-Feldmane, damage to the contact network on the tram line was recorded. During the repair work, traffic was also hindered on the roadway.
It was previously reported that on Friday morning, a major traffic jam formed in the Teika area of Riga, complicating movement along Brivibas Gatve, Gustav Zemgala Gatve, and other nearby streets.
