Already on Saturday, the snow cover in the western part of the country is expected to increase by five to nine centimeters, forecast meteorologists from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Meteorologists explain that during the day, clouds will form over the Gulf of Riga, bringing a heavy snowfall in narrow bands to the western part of the country, resulting in an increase in snow cover by five to nine centimeters.
Meteorologists remind that the roads will be slippery and snowy, and visibility will worsen during the snowfall.
Due to the expected weather conditions, meteorologists have issued a yellow warning.
