Latvians are actively sharing their impressions of celebrating the New Year on social media. In particular, many filmed those who launched fireworks at 11 PM - Moscow time.
“Attention! Watch and listen to what is happening in the Kengarags district of Riga - it’s midnight in Moscow, but it’s 11 PM here, and these people are launching fireworks despite the Riga City Council's ban! Attention! Listen to the screams,” reported RJAYLV, sharing a video (see below).

“We were tracking down the firework launchers in Moscow and reporting them where necessary,” Anna stated in the comments on TikTok. “My neighbor filmed them, we specifically went out on the street in our area. Where? I won’t say,” shared the vigilant resident of Riga.
“And they also launched fireworks in Marupe. We filmed everything, but the ban only applies in Riga. But we will post it on social media, let people know,” reported “Kukuruku.”
Many are posting confirmations of fireworks being launched according to Moscow time on the social network TikTok.
