Today and tomorrow, passengers will be able to use public transport in Riga for free; additionally, on New Year's Eve, extra bus, trolleybus, and tram routes have been introduced, reported the company "Rīgas satiksme."
On December 31 and January 1, passengers do not need to register trips in public transport.
On the night of December 31 to January 1, from 0:30 to 2:15, additional routes will be introduced on several lines: on bus routes number 3, combined route number 12, 23, 26, 24, 25, 37, 51, and 53, on tram routes number 1, 5, 7, 11, and on trolleybus routes number 4, 9, 15, 17, and 18.
On bus route number 3, one of the additional trips towards Plavnieki will start from the Greciņieku street stop at 0:31, and from the Merkela street stop at 0:35.
Municipal paid parking lots serviced by "Rīgas satiksme" will also be free to use on December 31 and January 1, except for the underground parking at Valdemara street, 5a.
On Friday, January 2, public transport will operate on a weekend schedule.
