Latvijas Pasts, together with the passenger railway carrier Vivi, invites you to the "Festive Postal Train," which will be opened on Thursday, December 18, by Santa Claus and his helper. Passengers will be able to meet these characters on the Riga-Tukums-Riga and Riga-Aizkraukle-Riga routes.
The festive atmosphere will be created by the decorated first (or, respectively, last) carriage of the "Festive Postal Train." Passengers will have access to hot drinks, gingerbread, instant photos, postage stamps dedicated to the charity marathon Dod pieci!, as well as Santa Claus and his helper, who will become festive companions for each passenger.
The "Festive Postal Train" will make several trips. On the route towards Tukums, the departure from Riga Central Station is at 14:45, arriving at 16:30. The return train from Tukums will depart at 16:45 and arrive at Riga Central Station at 18:15.
"Our mission is to connect people, borders, and businesses, but this time we will deliver the Christmas spirit, which will go to residents of different cities in Latvia. The 'Festive Postal Train' is meant for everyone to fill the journey home or to another destination with surprise," emphasized Girts Rudzitis, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts.
On the second route, the train will depart from Riga Central Station at 18:39 towards Aizkraukle and will arrive there at 19:58. From Aizkraukle, the "Festive Postal Train" will leave at 20:21 and return to Riga at 21:29.
After the opening, passengers from different cities in Latvia will further be able to access the Christmas-decorated carriage, which will operate on various routes until the end of 2025.
