The average air temperature in Latvia in the first decade of November was +7.7 degrees, which is four degrees above normal, according to data collected by the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC), LETA reports.
The lowest air temperature was recorded on November 8 at the Zilani observation station (Jekabpils) — +1.8 degrees. The highest — +15.4 degrees — was noted on November 7 in Mersrags. The previous temperature record for November 7 in Latvia was surpassed by 2.4 degrees. A total of 13 temperature records were broken on November 6 and 7.
The average precipitation across the country was 10.6 millimeters, or 49% of the norm. The most precipitation fell in Rozupe (Liva Region) — 25.9 millimeters, while the least was in Kuldiga and Saldus, both with 2.9 millimeters.
The lowest moisture and precipitation levels for one month were observed in the Kuldiga region, while for three months, it was in the Jekabpils region. The highest humidity level for both one and three months was in Riga.
The average relative humidity in Latvia in the first decade of November was 94% — ranging from 91% in Riga to 97% in Aluksne. The strongest wind gusts — 15.8 m/s — were recorded on November 4 in Ventspils.
