On Lāčplēsis Day, November 11, due to torchlight processions in Talsi, Cēsis, Brocēni, Saldus, Rēzekne, and Gulbene, there will be changes in the schedules of regional bus routes — some stops will be temporarily unavailable, and delays in trips are possible, representatives of the State Joint Stock Company "Directorate of Transport" informed the LETA agency.
In Talsi, due to the procession, streets will be closed from 16:30 to 20:20. Therefore, buses on the route "Talsi Bus Station – Zvirgzdi – Polyclinic – Pastende – Talsi Bus Station" will not stop at the "Post Office" stop at 16:53 and 17:53. On the same route, buses will not stop at "Gymnasium" at 17:21 and 17:22, and the bus at 17:05 will not stop at the "Hospital" stop.
In Cēsis, from 16:30 to 18:15, the stops "May Park", "Castle Park", "1st Kindergarten", "Castle Park-1" will not be served on several trips of routes No. 3005 "Cēsis – Cīrulīši – Cēsis", No. 3009 "CATA – Station – Hospital – Gaujaškālns", No. 5601 "Kalnmūža – Cēsis – Priekuļi", No. 6253 "Cēsis – Ramulu School – Rīdzene – Priekuļi – Cēsis" and No. 6274 "Cēsis – Priekuļi – Cēsis (clinic)".
In Brocēni, public transport will not be able to pass through two sections: from 17:00 to 19:00, the section of Lielcieceres Street from Setas Street to Sturu Street will be closed, and from 17:00 to 18:00, the section of Skolas Street from the intersection with Lielcieceres Street to the intersection with Sturu Street will be closed. This will affect six trips on two regional routes — No. 6730 "Saldus – Tile Workshop – Brocēni" and No. 6741 "Saldus – Brocēni".
On the route "Saldus – Brocēni", on two trips arriving at 17:38 and 17:49, buses will not stop at the "Priede" and "Zalya iela" stops in both directions, only proceeding to the "Brocēni Center" stop.
On six trips on both routes, where a stop at "Brocēni Center" is scheduled between 17:25 and 18:35, the stop will be temporarily moved to the area near the Brocēni Tourist Information Center, next to the "Latvijas Pasts" branch.
In Saldus, changes will affect one trip — route No. 6770 "Bus Station – Draudzība", departing at 19:40 from the stop at Saldus Bus Station. This bus may leave a little later and will travel along Liela Street, which will become accessible to public transport after 19:50.
In Rēzekne and Gulbene, bus stops will not be affected, but delays of some trips are possible, especially in Rēzekne, where access to the bus station will be restricted from 18:00 to 18:30 due to the procession.
During the Lāčplēsis Day events, detours will be used for regional buses on the specified routes. Passengers are asked to be understanding and consider possible slight delays in movement.
