In cases where our employees identify violations during routine checks of identity and reasons for the stay of entrants, it is immediately recorded, and the information is forwarded to the responsible institutions, most often the State Border Guard.

To obtain additional information about the possible whereabouts of individuals who have illegally entered Latvia, we also contact local public organizations.”

In their daily work, the municipal police “have not recorded any incidents between local residents and individuals who have illegally entered Latvia.”

“However, when identifying and responding to complaints about conflict situations, the municipal police act in accordance with the law in all situations, regardless of nationality, race, or state affiliation.
