Another vehicle inspection station for passenger cars will appear in Riga, announced Aivars Aksenoks, the chairman of the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD), during a broadcast on TV3 on Tuesday, as reported by LETA.
Currently, in Riga, passenger cars can only undergo technical inspection at the station on Antenas Street, where long queues often form. CSDD plans to open a new vehicle inspection station on Latgales Street, behind Rumbula, by the end of this year.
The new station will have eight inspection lines. It will be slightly smaller than the one on Antenas, but, according to Aksenoks, the opening of the new station should significantly reduce the queues for technical inspection in Riga.
As previously reported, a few days ago, CSDD officially opened a new vehicle inspection station in Marupe, which services vehicles with a total weight exceeding 3.5 tons, i.e., trucks.
