Street sodium lights in the capital will be replaced with new LED lights, with a total cost reaching one million euros.
The new LED lights provide higher energy efficiency and reduce electricity consumption, allowing the city to cut maintenance costs and carbon emissions.
In total, about 3,865 lights are planned to be replaced. Another 597 units will be delivered to warehouses as a reserve.
The project includes not only the replacement of existing lamps, updating the supply cables and automatic switches, but also the installation and registration of light controllers in the lighting management system.
The innovative approach to street lighting will cost the city budget €630,000, with the remaining €380,000 being obtained through the European Union's Climate Program.
The light bulbs are promised to be replaced within nine months, with replacement work starting in a week.
