The Annual Meeting of the Government and Foreign Investors Will Take Place

On Friday, October 31, the 29th meeting of representatives of the government and the Foreign Investors' Council in Latvia will take place, as reported by the State Chancellery.

The government and investors will discuss the investment environment in Latvia and measures to improve it in order to ensure conditions for the successful operation of foreign investors in the country.

Prime Minister Evika Silina and the Chairman of the Foreign Investors' Council Reinhard Schneider will discuss the outcomes of the meeting at a press conference.

As noted by the State Chancellery, the joint goal of the government and the Foreign Investors' Council is to strengthen Latvia's competitiveness, attract foreign investments, and improve the business environment.

According to the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, there are currently 179 foreign investment projects at various stages of implementation in the country, with a total investment potential of over 16 billion euros, which foresee the creation of 6,678 new jobs. 37 projects relate to the defense industry, with a total investment potential of about 1.5 billion euros.

Annual meetings of the government and the Foreign Investors' Council have been held since 1999 to improve the business environment and facilitate further investment inflow.
