The highest salary in Latvian medicine is earned by a radiologist, whose salary in 2024 amounted to 41 thousand euros a month. This totals 490,419.53 euros a year, reports nra.lv, citing the portal puaro.lv, which publishes a ranking of the 300 highest salaries in Latvian medicine.
Due to low salaries, the system is experiencing a shortage of three to four thousand nurses and their assistants, which, in turn, significantly affects the quality of medical care in hospitals.
The list of problems caused by insufficient funding can go on for a long time, but it is known to everyone. At the same time, doctors of certain specialties, such as radiologists, receive salaries in the tens of thousands of euros in both the public and private sectors.
