Rolling Stones musician faced demands from authorities. His door was banned. The decision is related to the architectural norms of the area.

A dispute has erupted in London over the appearance of private homes in the prestigious Maida Vale neighborhood. The Westminster City Council has ordered Ronnie Wood, the guitarist of the Rolling Stones, to change the color of the front door of his mansion. The reason is that the bright pink shade chosen by the musician does not fit the architectural character of the street, as reported by the Daily Mail.

According to the publication, Wood was not the only one under the municipality's scrutiny. Several other residents of the area also received orders to bring the facades of their homes in line with established requirements. Authorities believe that bright colors spoil the historical atmosphere and may negatively affect the status of the neighborhood.

Among Wood's neighbors is 97-year-old BAFTA award winner Angela Allen. She also received an order to carry out repairs, or she faced a fine of up to £30,000. In Wood's case, his gates remained black, but the door had to be repainted to avoid penalties.

The situation took on an additional layer of irony because the Rolling Stones have a famous song "Paint It Black." It features a line about wanting to repaint a red door black. Now this line has unexpectedly found literal embodiment in the life of one of the band members.

Ronald David (Ronnie) Wood (born June 1, 1947) is a British musician. He is best known as a member of The Rolling Stones, The Jeff Beck Group, and The Faces.

The fortune of the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist is estimated at around $150 million (approximately £130–150 million). The bulk of his wealth comes from income generated by decades of musical activity, album sales, worldwide stadium tours, as well as investments in real estate and art.
