French journalists have returned to the scandalous episode involving French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte a year later. According to media reports, the reason for the loud family scene could be the alleged correspondence of the head of state with a famous actress.
It became known why the wife of the President of France slapped him: French media report that the reason for the scandalous incident, which the whole world discussed, was allegedly the affair of 48-year-old Emmanuel Macron with 42-year-old Franco-Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani.
Thus, the French publication Le Parisien, a year after the incident, reported citing journalist Florian Tardif and his sources that the public conflict between Macron and his wife could have erupted because 73-year-old Brigitte learned about her husband's extramarital relationship. According to the newspaper, Macron had been in a "platonic relationship" with actress Golshifteh Farahani for several months and they had been exchanging messages. Among the messages that Macron allegedly sent to his supposed secret lover were words like "I find you very beautiful."
Journalist Tardif stated that shortly before the quarrel between Macron and his wife, which was caught on video, Brigitte read a message from Farahani on her husband's phone. After that, the infamous slap scene occurred. Macron's wife's entourage did not confirm that the slap was in any way related to the Franco-Iranian actress. Moreover, her representatives stated that the First Lady of France never checks her husband's phone.
Recall that last spring, a video went viral in which Macron's wife slapped him on board an airplane. After that, Macron descended the steps and extended his hand to his wife, but she ignored him. At that time, social media turned the scandalous video into memes and subsequently mocked Macron, for example, when he appeared in public with a swollen eye, but no one knew the real reason for the quarrel between the spouses.

Despite the assurances from Macron's representatives, internet users discussed the reasons for his wife's behavior for a long time: after the conflict, both appeared tense in public, so there were few supporters of the "family games" version.
