The richest person in the world, Elon Musk, revealed that he paid over $10 billion in taxes to the government in one year. The businessman stated that, in his opinion, this is the largest amount of tax payments in history.
"I paid over $10 billion in taxes in one year – more than anyone in history," wrote the 54-year-old entrepreneur on his social media platform X.

Musk explained that when exercising and selling stock options, his combined federal and state income tax rate would be around 45%. He also added that he continues to pay taxes to the state of California for every day he stays there.
Additionally, the head of Tesla reminded about the inheritance tax of about 40% that will be levied after his death. "In total, I will probably pay trillions of dollars in taxes," the businessman summarized.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk ranks first in the Forbes list of the world's richest people with a net worth of $839 billion — an absolute record. He has previously become the first billionaire whose wealth reached $500, $600, and $700 billion, and experts predict that he could become the first trillionaire in history.
Recently, Musk also shared his thoughts on happiness: "The one who said 'money can't buy happiness' actually knew what they were talking about."
Musk once again drew attention to his finances and the scale of his wealth, which continues to grow at a record pace, writes bb.lv. At the same time, the billionaire made it clear that even huge amounts of money do not guarantee happiness, reminding of his recent phrase that wealth does not solve all problems.
