French actor and writer Jean Reno has presented a new book "The Escape", which addresses the issue of the forced retention of Ukrainian children. The novel is already on sale in France.
French actor and writer Jean Reno, who gained worldwide fame in the 1990s for his roles in the films "Nikita" and "Léon", has written a novel about Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russian occupiers. This was reported by the publishing house XO Éditions.
Reno's new adventure novel is titled L’Évasion ("The Escape"). It is a continuation of the story of masseuse Emma, who is recruited by the French external intelligence agency DGSE. This time, Emma must get close to an agent of the Russian security services to uncover the fate of Ukrainian children kidnapped by the Russian occupation administration. She travels to Siberia and infiltrates a so-called rehabilitation camp for Ukrainian teenagers.
According to Jean Reno, he decided to write this book after learning that Russia had kidnapped thousands of Ukrainian children and adolescents and is now holding them forcibly. He stated that he was shocked that such a thing is possible in the modern world.
Jean Reno's first novel was titled "Emma". It told the story of a 28-year-old French masseuse who went to work in Oman in the Middle East but became embroiled in political intrigues that threatened her life.
Jean Reno's new novel combines elements of a thriller and current issues, turning a pressing topic into a narrative and drawing attention to the problem through artistic form.
