There Will Be a Surprise: Verka Serduchka is Returning to Eurovision Again

Verka Serduchka is preparing for a loud return to the Eurovision stage in 2026 in Vienna. Her performance will be part of a grand reunion of the contest's legends in the grand final on May 16.

The capital of Austria will host the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the contest, and the show organizer has already announced the star-studded lineup of participants, as reported on the contest's website, writes Focus.

Main Event: Reunion of Eurovision Legends

The final will feature a special interval act "Celebration — The Ultimate Eurovision All-Stars Reunion," which will bring together iconic artists from different years. During this show, viewers will vote for the winner of the anniversary contest.

The return of Serduchka is one of the main surprises of the evening: her performance of "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" in 2007 remains one of the most famous in the history of the contest.

Legendary Opening of the Semi-Final

The first semi-final will be opened by Vicky Leandros, who will perform a new version of her hit "L'amour est bleu." It was with this song that she performed in Vienna back in 1967.

The show will also feature Parov Stelar and Austria's representative at Eurovision 2026 — JJ, who will present a new composition.

The organizers promise that the anniversary Eurovision will be the most grand-scale in the history of the contest.

When Will Eurovision 2026 Take Place

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna will follow the traditional schedule with two semi-finals and a grand final:

  • First semi-final — May 12, 2026
  • Second semi-final — May 14, 2026
  • Grand final — May 16, 2026

All shows will take place in the evening and will be broadcast live, as every year. It is in the final on May 16 that the winner of the anniversary, 70th Eurovision will be determined.

Latvia will be represented this year in the second semi-final on May 14 by the singer Atvara with the song Ēnā.
