In the tourism industry, it is customary to offer clients the best vacation options; however, experienced agents admit: sometimes the most honest recommendation is to dissuade from traveling. Over the years, specialists develop a list of destinations they do not choose themselves and do not recommend to tourists.
Madagascar
The exotic island often looks attractive in photographs, but in practice, the journey can be challenging. The tourist infrastructure here is poorly developed, the service level significantly lags behind familiar standards, and logistics require serious preparation.
Roads remain a problem: even short distances can take 10–12 hours. Domestic flights are often canceled without warning. An additional risk is posed by the high level of poverty, which affects safety — tourists are advised not to leave hotels after dark.
Alternative: Mauritius — a more developed and safer destination with comfortable vacation conditions.
Israel
Despite its popularity among tourists, Israel remains a complex destination for travel. Entry into the country is accompanied by strict checks, which can take several hours, and in some cases, tourists may be denied entry without explanation.
An additional factor is the high prices: costs for accommodation, food, and transportation here are significantly higher than in many other resort countries.
Alternative: For beach vacations, Cyprus or Greece are often recommended — with more lenient entry conditions and affordable prices.
Cuba
Cuba attracts with its atmosphere and nature; however, tourists often face everyday difficulties. In many hotels, the service level remains low, the infrastructure is outdated, and the quality of food does not always meet expectations.
There may also be interruptions in internet and electricity, which affects the comfort of the stay. The country experiences a shortage of various goods, including food and medications, which further complicates the visit.
Alternative: The Dominican Republic or Mexico offer a higher level of service and a wide range of vacation conditions.
