A Dating Guide for Young Men Released in Sweden

During a meeting with a girl, one should be interested - asking more questions rather than talking about oneself.

A dating guide for young men has been released in Sweden. This document was published by the NGO "Swedish Association for Sexual Education" (RFSU). According to them, about 30% of young men and boys in the country suffer from loneliness. For them, a three-part guide has been published: advice for preparing for a date, behavior during it, and after.

First of all, RFSU advises to properly set up a profile in an online dating app, choosing several photos. At least one should clearly show the face, and another should depict a hobby. However, selfies in the mirror or fishing shots should not be published.

Next, one needs to write a good text about oneself, without any demands for a partner. It is important to talk about hobbies and specify what kind of relationship one is looking for: friendship, something casual, or serious relationships.

To initiate communication, one should send the first message, where they should curiously ask about something the person wrote in their profile. Alternatively, they can ask about something in the profile picture, but not comment on appearance. Worse are truisms like "Hi, how are you?" or "What are you up to?", as well as texts with mistakes, sexualized comments, insults, or simply "Hi".

Before the date, RFSU advises taking a shower and washing hair, and using deodorant.

During the meeting, one should be interested rather than interesting: asking questions about the person instead of only talking about oneself.
