One season will be filmed for each of Rowling's novels.

Hans Zimmer, a two-time Academy Award winner, will create original music for the upcoming 'Harry Potter' series commissioned by HBO. This was announced by Warner Bros. The composer will collaborate with the team at Bleeding Fingers Music, which he founded in 2013.

Zimmer promised that the soundtrack will convey the atmosphere of the magical world, paying homage to the melodies from the films featuring Daniel Radcliffe. "I want viewers to feel the magic of Hogwarts once again," he noted. Previously, music for the film saga was composed by John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper, and Alexandre Desplat.

Hans Zimmer is known for his work on 'Dune,' 'Interstellar,' the 'Dark Knight' trilogy, and 'The Lion King.' The premiere of the 'Harry Potter' series is scheduled for 2027.

There are a total of seven Harry Potter novels. It is known that one season will be filmed for each of them. "We are excited to give viewers the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a completely new way… The new Max Original series will deeply dive into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy over the years," said HBO & Max Content CEO Casey Bloys in an interview.

From the very beginning, it was known that the actors from the 'Harry Potter' films would not be involved in the series: the show's creators decided to form a new cast. Daniel Radcliffe clarified in an interview in June 2023 that he is unlikely to appear in the show even in a cameo format.
