The winners of the 'Golden Microphone' have been announced in 20 categories

Today, the Latvian annual awards in the field of music recordings 'Golden Microphone' were presented in 20 categories at the Olympic Center in Ventspils, reported LETA agency representative Rebecca Japina.

This year, 315 applications were submitted for the award — 140 albums, 57 songs, 74 music videos, 38 debut albums, and six concert recordings in video format.

In the category of jazz, funk, or soul album, the best was recognized as Kārlis Auziņš Double Trio with the album 'Equilibrium Suite', in the category of electronic or dance album — 'Eiii' with the album 'Refractions', and in the hip-hop album category, 'Prospekti' won with the album 'Biļete uz vienu galu'.

In the category of indie or alternative music, the best was the album 'Arlabunakti' by the band 'Stūrī Zēvele', in the category of cross-genre or instrumental album, the winners were Oskars Petrauskis, Marina Rebeka, Douglas Bostock, Liene Andreta Kalnciema, and the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra with the album 'Gratitude', while in the category of traditional pop music, Normunds Rutulis, Ginta Krievkalna, and the band Hanss Antheheda won with the album 'Abpusēji'.

The winners in the category 'Musical Album for Children' were also awarded — the winner was the children's vocal ensemble 'Tī mažors' from the Tīnūži Community Center with the album 'Man ir ģimene'. In the pop album category, 'Sudden Lights' won with the album 'Īsas vasaras, garas ziemas', in the rock or metal album category — 'Skyforger' with the album 'Teikas', and in the folk or world music category, the winner was the group 'The Baltic Sisters' with the album 'Värav / Vārti / Vartai'.

In the category of classical or vocal music, 'Trio Baltia' won with the album 'Trio Baltia. Baltie putni', and the best song was recognized as the composition Fiņķis 'Baudam!', which also became a radio hit.

In the debut category, the award went to Emilija with the album 'Tintes stāsts', in the music video category — 'Carnival Youth' and Evija Weber for the video 'Labākā doma pasaulē', and in the album design category — the folklore group 'Grodi' with the album 'Sudrabu smeldama'.

In the concert video recording category, the band 'Stūrī Zēvele' won with the concert recording 'Arlabunakti'.

The 'Album of the Year' was named the album 'Sudden Lights' 'Īsas vasaras, garas ziemas'.

The best producer was recognized as Mārtiņš Krastiņš.

The award for 'Lifetime Contribution to the Development of Latvian Music' this year went to the post-folk group 'Iļģi'.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the 'Golden Microphone' award.
