Latvian designer Gints Bude made a sharp statement in an interview with 'Nra.lv sarunas', calling on the State Police to pay attention to possible connections between the modeling business and representatives from Russia during the New Wave contest held in Jurmala.
Gints Bude drew parallels with international scandals related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, hinting at the involvement of some Latvian modeling agencies in the 'servicing' of the New Wave contest. He expressed doubt that during their stay in Latvia, representatives of the Russian elite behaved any differently than usual.
“I don’t think that oligarchs, just like Russian stars, suddenly had any vacations in their sexual lives,” said Gints Bude.
The designer believes that verifying possible facts is not difficult, including through the staff of Jurmala hotels. “It’s very easy to contact those few Jurmala hotels. What was happening there? There will be evidence. It’s precisely through the staff. You can find out who was working at that time, whether teenagers entered that hotel or not,” he noted.
Bude also mentioned well-known Russian artists who performed at the New Wave.
“I really don’t believe that Kirkorov, Baskov, or Lazarev suddenly, as they say… changed their habits in Latvia. I think that Jurmala was precisely characterized by this special summer sexual chic,” he stated.
The designer was particularly harsh about the backstage of the contest. “That’s why the modeling environment organized around the New Wave, I think, was really a true meat market,” said Bude.
