The band Prāta vētra compensated the Jelgava local government for the costs of restoring the lawn damaged during the concert and heavy rains, the local government reported to the LETA agency.

In July of last year, the band traditionally began its concert tour in their hometown of Jelgava — on the meadow opposite Jelgava Castle. A week before the concert, the city experienced heavy rains, which caused significant inconvenience for the audience and damaged the meadow.

After the concert, the local government carried out restoration work at their own expense and then approached the concert organizer to request reimbursement for the incurred losses. The band Prāta vētra covered the expenses amounting to 13,933 euros, transferring the specified amount to the local government.

It was previously reported that due to prolonged rains and the concert by Prāta vētra, which attracted more than 25,000 spectators, as well as heavy machinery delivering equipment, the lawn on the meadow opposite Jelgava Castle was damaged.

After the concert, the damaged lawn was milled, the layer of mulch was removed, and in some areas, black soil was added — covering an area of 10,000 square meters. New grass was then sown, and the soil was compacted to ensure a smooth and quality surface.

The work on the meadow near the castle was carried out by LLC Alejas projekti. According to Firmas.lv, in 2024, Alejas projekti had a turnover of 3,746,525 euros and a profit of 209,418 euros. The owner of the company is Andris Dreska.
