Sleep doctor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Roman Buzunov explained why dreams sometimes seem prophetic. According to him, this is not mysticism at all, but the work of the brain.
“In sleep, the brain makes predictions without the involvement of our consciousness. We constantly analyze information, including at night,” says the expert.
For example, if a person dreams that they are hit by a car, it may reflect their habit of frequently crossing the road in an unauthorized place. The brain “completes” the situation to a possible outcome, and consciousness perceives it as a warning.
At the same time, each outcome has its own probability. If a dream randomly comes true, a person feels that it is prophetic. If not, it is simply forgotten.
