After many years of provocative behavior and anti-Semitic statements, Kanye West published an open letter "To Those I Hurt" in The Wall Street Journal. The rapper and businessman explained that the cause of his actions was bipolar disorder.
West recalled the car accident in 2002, after which his right frontal lobe and jaw were damaged. "The internal neurological damage went unnoticed until 2023. It seriously affected my mental health," he wrote.
The rapper detailed manic episodes when it seemed he saw the world more clearly than anyone else, although he was actually losing control of the situation. In the letter, he sincerely apologized for all his previous words and actions.
