Clarke's character is the secretary of the American embassy in Moscow, whose husband dies in a plane crash in the Moscow region under unclear circumstances.

Together with a colleague (Hailee Lou Richardson), whose husband died in the same accident, Clarke's character begins her own investigation as a CIA agent. The showrunners of the project are Susanna Fogel, the creator of the series about Anne Frank "Little Light," and David Iserson, who directed the show "Mr. Robot."

Social media users criticized Emilia Clarke, whose character speaks Russian. From their perspective, today, when Russia is waging war in Ukraine, the actress should not have participated in a project set in Moscow, even if it is a spy thriller set in the 1970s.
