The increase in the number of magnetic storms may continue for at least another two years, approximately until 2028. This was reported by specialists from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research on their Telegram channel.

After the rise in solar activity, a rapid degradation should begin, leading to a solar minimum around 2029-2030. It is noted that due to the large anticipated number of magnetic storms, the next two years will be favorable for observing the northern lights.

Residents should expect many magnetic storms in 2026, said laboratory head Sergey Bogachev. About five to six X-class flares are expected on the Sun, with an average of one flare every two months.
