Prince William has hired a crisis management specialist to deal with the internal conflicts of the royal family and the fallout from the scandals involving Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
New Expert at Kensington Palace
Liza Ravecroft, recruited from the communications firm Edelman, will play a key role in managing daily interactions with the press and organizing crisis strategy. Ravecroft previously led the crisis team in the UK and was recommended by Julian Payne, former press secretary to King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Context of the Appointment
In recent years, the royal family has faced a number of challenges: the illnesses of Kate Middleton and King Charles III, the death of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as a series of interviews by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealing the behind-the-scenes life of the palace. Ravecroft's appointment is intended to help improve communication between Kensington and Buckingham Palaces and strengthen the family's reputation.
Scandals Involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor
Andrew was stripped of his royal titles following scandals related to Jeffrey Epstein and will soon leave Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he lived with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
Security and Reputation
In addition to internal harmony, palace efforts are focused on controlling the security of Prince Harry during visits to the UK. Ravec — a committee of police, royal, and government experts — is reviewing the Duke of Sussex's application for taxpayer-funded armed security.
