“He is for Latvia - more than a composer” - Rinkēvičs congratulated Raimonds Pauls

The President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, published a congratulatory message to Maestro Raimonds Pauls, who turned 90 on January 12.

“Raimonds Pauls is for Latvia - more than a composer. Raimonds Pauls is a miracle. Because he succeeds. The Maestro has an amazing ability to reach each listener in an extraordinary way. And always surprises us. The Maestro makes Latvia Latvia, because his music has taught all of Latvia to feel: to rejoice, to be proud, to be angry, to be moved, and to truly be sad. Raimonds Pauls has created not only the soundtrack of our lives. It seems that Raimonds Pauls' music has always been and will always be. Like the sunrise in the east and the sunset in the west.

Raimonds Pauls is always a man in his prime. And today, suddenly and unexpectedly, he turns 90. I want to wish myself and all of us various qualities of Raimonds Pauls - amazing work ethic and joy of creativity, as well as the ability to laugh, but not to mock. But today is the Maestro's birthday, so the wishes are addressed to him. I wish that health and zest for life do not interfere with each other! May good wishes bring joy rather than fatigue! And may he be able to simply do what he desires most. Men in their prime can afford that!” - wrote Edgars Rinkēvičs.
