The cause of death of the legendary French actress Brigitte Bardot was cancer, her husband Bernard d'Ormal reported, according to LETA citing AFP.
Bardot passed away on December 28 at the age of 91 in her home "La Madrague" on the French Riviera. The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.
In an interview with Paris Match, d'Ormal revealed that Bardot underwent two surgeries. It is known that at the end of 2025, the actress was hospitalized twice.
He did not specify which type of cancer was the cause of death. In the 1980s, Bardot was diagnosed with breast cancer, from which she recovered at that time.
"She always very much wanted to return to 'La Madrague'. But it was more complicated there, especially due to the back pain that did not go away, caused suffering, and exhausted her," d'Ormal said.
"Nevertheless, she remained conscious until the very end," he added.
Bardot will be buried today at the cemetery in Saint-Tropez.
