11-year-old Scot Dominic McLaughlin, cast as Harry Potter in the new HBO series, shared the story of how he received an unexpected letter from Daniel Radcliffe. The young actor admitted that such a gesture touched him deeply.
"It was madness. We were on the train, and my dad just patted me on the back and handed me an envelope. When I saw the signature 'Dan R.', everything inside me flipped, but I tried to stay calm," Dominic said in an interview with Variety.
Speaking about the filming of the series, the actor noted that the adventures are just beginning, but the process is already bringing him a lot of joy: "Everything is going amazingly. I've managed to make friends with everyone, and I'm really happy to be on set."
In the letter, Daniel Radcliffe wished the boy to enjoy his work as much as he did when embodying the iconic character. "I don’t want to be an intrusive shadow in these kids' lives, but I wanted to tell him: 'I hope you have even more fun than I did,'" Radcliffe wrote in November.
