There is an opinion that alcoholics never get sick, said nutritionist Alexander Burlakov. He debunked this common myth on his Telegram channel.
"Alcohol abuse does not have a protective effect and may be associated with a deterioration in overall health, which can increase susceptibility to infections," warned Burlakov.
According to him, alcoholism is closely related to a higher frequency and severity of skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, acne, as well as cancer. Furthermore, the presence of a disorder caused by alcohol consumption significantly increases the risk of developing chronic kidney disease, the specialist concluded.
