Latvian pop star Viktors Lapčenoks hopes that his health will not let him down and that he will be able to give concerts for a long time, as he cannot live on one pension, writes nra.lv, referring to the article “The Legend Does Not Even Receive 350 Euros” in the publication Kas Jauns.
“My pension was still 310 euros, and now they added another 28 euros,” the singer does not hide.
“But my wife, who worked honestly and earned her pension, used to receive 600 euros, and now they added even more than 50 euros to her,” says Viktors Lapčenoks, adding with a smile that having such a wealthy wife makes it beneficial for him to continue their life together.
The stage legend, who still actively performs in various musical projects and at private events, admits that he cannot imagine how one can survive solely on a pension.
“Every time I go to buy food in one of the grocery supermarkets, I come out having spent more than 50 euros. A few years ago, with that amount, I could fill a whole cart, and the food would last a week, but now what I spent lasts only three days. God forbid if any unforeseen expenses arise — treatment or medication. It’s really hard to imagine how non-working pensioners survive,” sighs Viktors Lapčenoks.
