According to BBC, based on U.S. court documents, the ex-husband of Australian singer Sia has demanded more than $250,000 a month in alimony.
In the court documents, Dan Bernard, a former doctor, stated that he needs a monthly allowance to maintain a "luxurious lifestyle like that of the upper class," which he led during their marriage. He claimed that he was "financially dependent on Sia" after quitting his job to run a short-lived medical business with her, the documents say.
In the court documents, Bernard indicated that the couple, who married in December 2022 and are raising an 18-month-old son, spent over $400,000 a month on private jets, vacations, fine dining, and several full-time staff: "We never had to keep track of our expenses." The 47-year-old man stated that the temporary court order for alimony he is requesting is "necessary" because 49-year-old Sia was the "breadwinner in our marriage."
Recall that in March of this year, after Sia gave birth to her third child, she decided to divorce her husband Dan Bernard after 26 months of marriage.
