On the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the media published photographs of his sons and reported on the surnames under which they are registered.
The Russian opposition publication "Agentstvo" has for the first time shown photos of what are claimed to be the sons of Putin and Kabaeva.
It is reported that the photos were published in the book by journalists Roman Badanin and Mikhail Rubin titled "The Tsar in Person."
The book also states that the children (Ivan and Vladimir) are registered under the surname Spiridonov – apparently derived from Putin's grandfather Spiridon.
It is reported that Putin's sons were born in 2015 and 2019, respectively, in Switzerland and Moscow. They currently live in residences in Valdai and Sochi.
There has been no official confirmation regarding Vladimir Putin's two sons, but the existence of two daughters is not a secret in the Kremlin.
Thus, the elder daughter Maria Putin (Maria Vorontsova) was born in 1985, and the younger daughter Ekaterina Tikhonova was born in 1986. Both girls were born from Putin's first marriage to Lyudmila Shkrebneva.
