Милые старички Камилла и Чарлз вызывают лишь сожаление.

The number of public events attended by members of the royal family has nearly halved in recent years.

Soon there will come a time when there will be practically no one to perform royal duties, notes the British newspaper The Daily Mail. Previously, during state ceremonies on the wide balcony of Buckingham Palace, where royal figures gather, there was hardly any room to move. Now, it is a complete desolation.

In 2011, for example, 12 Windsors shared public duties. Together, they participated in nearly four thousand different events both at home and abroad.

But no one is eternal under the moon. In 2021, Prince Philip passed away, and a year later, his wife, Queen Elizabeth II...

The number of public events attended by members of the royal family has nearly halved in recent years. And the situation will worsen each year. The English monarchy is facing a crisis.

Currently, the senior representatives of the Windsors - cancer-stricken Charles III, Princess Anne, and Princes Andrew and Edward - are on average between 61 and 76 years old. The oldest family members - 89-year-old Duke of Kent Edward and his wife, 88-year-old Princess Alexandra - due to their advanced age, hardly appear in public.

When Prince William ascends the throne in place of his father, the active members of the royal family will be his wife Kate Middleton, who is undergoing cancer treatment, Princess Anne (who is already 75), Prince Edward (61), and his wife Sophie.

William's eldest son, George, will only be able to perform royal duties independently in 2034.

Sources at Kensington Palace claim that the heir to the throne has already developed a strategy for his reign. The key idea is to limit public contacts. Journalists believe that William and Kate, who are concerned about the privacy of their three children, will grant them the right to choose whether to perform royal duties or not.
