From June 18 to 21, the Latvian National Museum of Nature will host the traditional exhibition "Peonies 2026", which will gather the best specimens of these beloved summer flowers from across the country.
Visitors will be able to see around 200 varieties of peonies grown in the collection garden of Elita Zvingule, as well as in private collections and botanical gardens across different regions of Latvia. The exhibition promises to be a true celebration of colors and fragrances, as many varieties are at the peak of their bloom during the summer solstice.
The exhibition will feature both classic milk-flowered peonies and hybrid and interspecies varieties. The organizers have prepared not only popular modern varieties for guests but also exclusive specimens that are rarely seen in ordinary gardens.
Renowned Latvian peony cultivation specialists will share their collections — Elita Zvingule from the farm "Ķesterciema peonijas", Vineta Briška-Kambala from Kocēni, Līdija Braisa from the Pēlēci region, as well as representatives from the Latvian National Botanical Garden.
Exhibition guests will not only be able to admire the flowers but also receive consultations from experienced gardeners on selecting varieties, caring for plants, and the peculiarities of their cultivation. Additionally, visitors will be invited to participate in a voting process to choose the most beautiful peony of the exhibition.
Garden and flower enthusiasts can expect several days of true floral beauty, which will become one of the brightest events in June for all peony lovers.
