On August 22, a grand concert GALA GALANTE. Viva La Musica! will take place at the Dzintari concert hall in Jūrmala, dedicated to the laureates of the prestigious international award Baltijas Balva/Baltic Awards.

The organizers have announced the program for the evening, which, as tradition dictates, will bring together outstanding artists from various genres, countries, and musical directions on one stage. The uniqueness of GALA GALANTE concerts lies in the fact that many numbers and stage duets are created specifically for this event, forming a program that cannot be seen on any other stage.

This year, the concert will feature one of the leading tenors of our time, Giorgio Berrugi (Italy), Ukrainian tenor Dmytro Popov, Estonian soprano Elina Nechayeva, Latvian soprano Anija Kristiana Adamson, Latvian pianist Andrei Osokin, Lithuanian instrumental ensemble NICO Ensemble, Latvian bass Edgars Ošleja, young Latvian pianist Gustavs Kalējs, and, of course, opera diva Inessa Galante (Latvia), thanks to whom GALA GALANTE annually gathers outstanding artists from different countries on one stage. Conducting will be maestro Eckhart Witzig (Germany).

One of the central events of the evening will be the participation of Giorgio Berrugi - an artist whom Plácido Domingo called his artistic heir. Together with Inessa Galante and Dmytro Popov, he will perform the famous duet Parigi, o cara from Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata." The program will also feature legendary and beloved arias from the operas "Pagliacci" by Ruggero Leoncavallo, "Tosca" by Giacomo Puccini, "Faust" by Charles Gounod, and other works that have entered the golden fund of world musical culture.

A special highlight of the program will be the participation of two bright sopranos - Elina Nechayeva and Anija Kristiana Adamson. One of the surprises of the evening will be an unexpected interpretation of a famous piece from Jacques Offenbach's opera "The Tales of Hoffmann." Traditionally, GALA GALANTE is not limited to just opera repertoire. On this evening, musical eras and genres will freely change: alongside recognized classical masterpieces, works by Raimonds Pauls, music by Ludovico Einaudi, and popular compositions that have long been loved by the audience will be performed.

One of the most anticipated performances will be by the outstanding Latvian pianist Andrei Osokin accompanied by the Baltic Awards Orchestra. The atmosphere will also be enhanced by NICO Ensemble - one of the brightest musical groups in the Baltics, known for its modern take on academic music and expressive stage aesthetics.

According to the organizers, the GALA GALANTE program is built each year not on the principle of a traditional gala concert, but as a carefully constructed musical dramaturgy, where well-known works acquire a new sound thanks to new unexpected duets and original staging solutions.

"GALA GALANTE is not just a concert program. It is an opportunity to bring together artists on one stage whom the audience rarely sees together. Many numbers are born specifically for this evening. That is why each GALA GALANTE concert is special and never repeats itself," notes the general producer of the Baltijas Balva / Baltic Awards project, Diana Galante. The finale of the evening will be the legendary Time to Say Goodbye performed by all concert participants - an impressive culmination of the program, which has become one of the most beautiful summer traditions of the cultural life of Jūrmala.
