Filming of the crime drama by Ilya Aksyonov 'Palyevo' has begun. The main roles are played by Paulina Andreeva, Ivan Yankovsky, and Yuri Chursin, accompanied by Anton Vasilyev, Yana Poplavskaya, Olesya Sudzilovskaya, Kristina Babushkina, Olga Tumaykina, Alyona Savastova, Vera Strokova, Yan Ge, and Daniil Gazizullin.
According to general producer Fyodor Bondarchuk, "the plot hits the nerve of the times; today, more and more people try to seem rather than to be. The authors of 'Palyevo' showcase a display of beautiful life, and then turn this glossy picture inside out right before our eyes. And all of this is with a talented cast and production team! I am very glad that my colleagues and I can finally announce the start of filming for this project."
Viewers can expect a story about the world of luxury counterfeits, where behind the facade of luxury lies lies, fear, loneliness, and constant attempts to appear as someone else. It is a tale of people who spend years building an "ideal life," not noticing that they have long been living inside a counterfeit. The main character of the series, Ksenia, is the wife of a wealthy developer, existing in a world of expensive brands, exclusive clubs, and an eternal struggle for status. She desperately tries to fit in among the wives of the elite, but after a tragic accident, she finds herself drawn into the underground market of elite "pali."
"On one hand, this is a story about fake bags; on the other hand, which is much more important, it’s about how we evaluate ourselves. About people who are worth exactly as much as what they wear. And about people who are not spoiled by cheap clothes. We have a very cool cast. The main roles are played by Paulina Andreeva and Ivan Yankovsky, and in supporting roles are amazing artists who have much to portray. Right now, we are capturing every shot on set, and it already looks powerful and engaging," said producer Andrey Zolotarev.
"Simply stating that 'consumption is bad' is boring and cliché. For me, this film is not just about the underground business. We are asking the question: what in this life remains real? Now the line between copy and original is blurred. I recently learned that one of my favorite tracks is made up of pieces from other musical works. It’s like a 'Frankenstein,' stitched together from someone else's recycled scraps, altered beyond recognition. Has the track become secondary because of this? No. I loved it then, and I still love it now," said director Ilya Aksyonov.
