World-renowned violinist from the USA Dmitry Sitkovetsky to perform in Riga for the first time 0 12

Dmitry Sitkovetsky (USA) is a rare musician in his versatility, a world-renowned violinist, conductor, composer, arranger, and educator.

Over four decades since the beginning of his career at the Vienna "Musikverein" in 1979, Dmitry Sitkovetsky has collaborated with many great conductors and orchestras around the world - Sir Neville Marriner, Mariss Jansons, Sir Colin Davis; the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and other famous musical ensembles. The performer’s career is reflected in an extensive discography of over forty recordings, showcasing an impressive range of his repertoire - from Johann Sebastian Bach to Rodion Shchedrin.

Dmitry is the head of several international festivals and a member of the jury for the most prestigious violin competitions. The geography of the outstanding violinist's tours extends from the USA and Europe to Hong Kong and South Korea.

Among the honored guests of the evening are the leading actor of the Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre Yakov Rafalson and the legendary musician Grigory Kovalevsky, who is the author of the idea for this concert.

The concert will also feature young but already acclaimed musicians - pianist Daumants Liepiņš, violist Peteris Trasun, and cellist Maxim Skibitsky.

The concert will include works by Mozart, Brahms, and Schubert from the golden fund of classical music.

On June 19, the audience will have a unique opportunity to hear the sound of a concert grand piano in this hall for the first time -- an instrument that will undoubtedly allow renowned world-class musicians to be invited to Riga.
