This summer, the 20th anniversary cycle of concerts "Jazz in Old Riga" will take place in the Small Guild Garden. From June 4 to August 27, every Thursday at 17:00, residents and guests of the capital will be able to enjoy live music for free, performed by renowned Latvian jazz ensembles and musicians.

The anniversary season will open on June 4 with a concert by the group "Silvesteri Orkesteri." This ensemble was at the origins of the project twenty years ago, which has since become one of the notable cultural traditions of summer in Riga. The festive concert will feature Renars Lācis, Kārlis Vanags, Toms Poikšs, Davids Vanags, and Anna Vibe Gorkusha.

On June 11, 18, and 25, ensembles from the CITY JAZZ RIGA jazz school will take the stage. Under the leadership of Kārlis Vanags, musicians of different generations — from students to experienced performers — will perform here. For several years, the school's big bands have been regular participants in the concert program at the Small Guild Garden.

July will be dedicated to performances by the "Jam Orchestra," with concerts scheduled for July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. The ensemble will perform original music at the intersection of jazz, rock, and blues. The main composer and arranger of the group is the renowned guitarist and teacher at the Music Academy, Andrei Evsyukov. He will be joined by Peteris Liepins, Gundars Lintins, Zintis Zvarcs, Roman Vendinsh, and Artyom Sarvi.

The season will conclude with a quartet led by Toms Rudzinskis, performing on August 6, 13, 20, and 27. Toms Rudzinskis is considered one of the brightest representatives of the contemporary Baltic jazz scene. A graduate of the Amsterdam Conservatory and an international competition laureate, he is known for his innovative approach to composition and performance.

Each August concert by the quartet will differ in both the lineup of musicians and the musical program. Listeners can expect works from a wide range of genres — from classical jazz to modern compositions featuring electronic instruments.
