French actress Nathalie Bay has passed away at the age of 78, reports the French agency Agence France-Presse (AFP).
According to journalists, Bay died in her home in Paris. It is known that last summer the actress's health deteriorated, and she suffered from dementia.
Throughout her career, Nathalie Bay appeared in more than 110 films. Among her most famous works are 'Catch Me If You Can', 'And Yet Laurence', 'Downton Abbey', 'Misha from D'Obra', 'The Return of Martin Guerre', 'Ten Percent', and 'American Night'.
Bay is the recipient of several César Awards, the Volpi Cup, the Silver Shell, the Golden Star, and the Crystal Globe. In 1996, she was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
The actress is survived by her daughter, Laura Smet, born from her relationship with French rock singer Johnny Hallyday.
