On Saturday, April 18, two spring street festivals will take place in the center of Riga.
At Dome Square - Festivities for the Whole Family
Throughout Saturday, Dome Square will host the third "Vec Rīga Festival," organized by the bars of the Old Town, offering music, treats, and a spring atmosphere. The program includes activities for different generations: from morning entertainment for children and families to evening concerts featuring popular artists in Latvia, reported Cynthia Lukjanska, a representative of the Riga City Council.
During the day, the stage will feature performances by the children's ensemble "Dzeguzīte," an orchestra from Latvia and Estonia, the group "Bitīt’ matos," and other ensembles. In between performances, guests will be entertained by DJs, including Tom Greviņš, as well as street performers.
During the festival, there will be a crafts and homemade goods fair in the square, as well as an extensive food area.
In addition to concerts, visitors can participate in various activities - a "Family Run," an "Endless Run" with fun tasks, workshops, a novus tournament, and join the "Dream Festival" with fairy-tale characters and a bubble show.
Creative activities from art studios will also be available for both children and adults.
Seafood Festival "From River to Ocean"
Also on Saturday, April 18, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the first seafood festival will take place at Berga Bazaar (Elizabetes Street) - a gastronomic show aimed at bringing together seafood lovers, gourmets, and experts in the field. Visitors will be offered a wide selection of seafood.
During the festival, chefs will demonstrate various cooking methods, creating a lively and dynamic atmosphere. In addition to tastings, there will be opportunities to purchase fresh and processed seafood from various vendors, participate in workshops, etc.
