The Zuzeum Museum invites you to the first personal exhibition of illustrator and artist Roberts Rurans 'Chestnut and the Universe', which can be visited in the Small Exhibition Hall until May 10. The exhibition showcases a wide range of the author's creativity – from vibrant illustrations of everyday life to personal, spiritual paintings where contemporary visual language intertwines with motifs of the Christian tradition.
The exhibition features more than 80 works created by the artist from 2018 to 2025. They are arranged in stages – from everyday, secular themes and commercial commissions to more personal works that reflect a spiritual quest.
Roberts Rurans' visual style is based on simple, expressive forms, expressed in bright, clearly structured compositions. At the exhibition, illustration becomes a tool through which the artist simultaneously speaks about our everyday visual environment and about quieter, harder-to-define yet important internal states and searches.
